Christmas on the Farm

Overall Rating: 3 Golden Rings

Worth watching: Yes, though maybe not my first choice.

Chemistry: The chemistry was one of the best things about this movie! While the main characters had believable romantic chemistry, it was really the chemistry between the whole cast that made this movie compelling.

Smooch Quality: Spicy

Plot According to Julie: NYC-based writer, Emmy, wants to publish the story of her late mother who ran a farm in Australia, but her publicist convinces her that she should fake her identity and publish the book pretending to be her mother in order to keep the book relevant. A major publishing company decides to offer her a deal on one condition: They are able to fly down to Australia and experience a magical Christmas on the farm like she talks about in her book. Chaos ensues as Emmy pretends to be her mother while also navigating the awkward realization that she had a one night stand with the hunky publisher just weeks ago! Will she be able to keep up the charade long enough to secure the deal, or will her shenanigans cause her career to go down under?

Review: I will say that I think this movie does a decent job at showing that Australia (and the entire southern hemisphere) actually don’t celebrate white Christmases, but instead have Christmas in the middle of their summer season. One thing that surprised me was the random flash mob style ending to this film. It seemed very out of the blue and distracted from the ending which, in my opinion, should focus on the magic of Christmas bringing two souls together. But hey! It was cute nonetheless.
